Wilhelm Johan Meling
Gauche paint on an 9"x12" on watercolor board, Adobe Photoshop
As an artist, I draw inspiration from various sources and life experiences. One significant influence in my artistic journey is my great-great-great uncle, Johan Wilhelm Meling—a renowned Norwegian painter of his time. He is best known for creating breathtaking murals in Oslo City Hall and contributing to the mural in the United Nations Conference Hall in New York City, marking his debut in America.
His remarkable contributions and esteemed reputation in Norway fill me with humility and pride. It's heartening to realize that I am not the only one in my family passionate about this beautiful and often overlooked talent. Embracing this artistic heritage fuels my passion for art, motivating me to carry on this legacy of creative expression.
