SCAD GRAD 2023 BRIEF
I was interested in creating a masterpiece on my cap for graduation in a diamond shape. I wanted to capture a relaxing sanctuary of an art studio including symbols that’s represent my journey, myself, and previous projects. The art on the walls are made from my time in County College of Morris, and Savannah College of Art and Design. Other clues starting from the left is a window showing the Georgia trees when I was living there for school. A bee comes in the room, which is SCAD's mascot. The greenery swaying and accompanying my desk is because I feel that I need nature near when working digitally for a longtime. Next to me, is caffeine which to me is an necessity when working. The clock going to 222, is a special angel number of mine that follows me everywhere I go reassuring me and my self alignment and growth. I am wearing my cap and gown, and digitally painting where I originally live, Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey - where I moved after I graduated. Lastly, in the midst of all the books on the bookshelf, the first book I wrote and illustrated is painted near the bottom.
